at the National Centre for Plasma Science & Technology
|
Applications are invited for a Science Foundation Ireland funded Postdoctoral fellowship in the National Centre for Plasma Science & Technology and the School of Physical Sciences at Dublin City University. This position is concerned with computer simulation and modelling of low-temperature plasmas, with a view to understanding basic physics issues. The context for this work is a project that seeks to develop the basic science underlying the use of low-temperature plasmas for materials processing applications, especially in the microelectronics industry. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with experimentalists in related areas, and to engage with industrial partners associated with the project, which is directed by Prof. Miles Turner. Candidates should possess the following skills: A PhD in a physical or mathematical science, or relevant branch of engineering, coupled with experience in plasma physics or plasma chemistry. The post is available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications (subject to funding). Closing date for applications is 23rd April 2010. Application Procedure.
