Eye on the Sky Astronomy Competition

The winners of the DCU Astronomical Digital Photo Competition were presented by Professor Eugene Kennedy, Vice-President for Research, DCU with their prizes at a prize giving ceremony on Thursday, 12th November in DCU.  The winner of first prize of a Solar Telescope was Tom O'Donohue for his photo of the Pelican Nebula (left).  A Special Prize of an Educational Solarscope was awarded to St Joseph's School, Lucan - teacher Mr Doherty. It was followed by a talk given by Dr Claus Madsen, European Southern Observatory
