Module aims:
- To provide a broad introduction to mathematics so that students can appreciate the usefulness of numbers and functions in inter-disciplinary areas.
- To familiarise students with more advanced techniques in the solution of applied problems.
Learning Outcomes:
The student will gain:
- The skills required to confidently manipulate expressions in calculus.
- An appreciation of the use of matrices, techniques of integration and enjoy the challenge of problem solving.

- Logarithmic, exponential.
- Matrices (Brief cover, dealt with in Module 204 (Exp Design))
- Vectors. (Brief cover, dealt with in Module 102 (Physics))
- Statistics.
